March 11: Women In Wireless Party

beautybarx

Tara Hunt of Buyosphere is sponsoring this cool beauty bar for women attending SXSW.  Check out BeautyBarX. I wanted to do something similar two years ago, so I am glad someone is doing it.

Dates: March 10-12, 2012

Time: 9am-3pm daily

What: YOU getting pampered Want to attend?

They are looking for sponsors so if your target market is women, you should throw some bucks their way, but not in a douchey ‘make it rain’ manner.

Ananda Leeke, founder of the Digital Sisterhood Network, describes this community as the currency women use to create relationship wealth through the connections they make, conversations they have, communities they build, causes they support, collaborative partnerships they establish, and commerce they engage in with women they meet online and offline. While the faces of technology rock stars and social media gurus don’t typically reflect what you’d expect to find in digital sisterhood, this panel will explore the thriving, relationship wealth-based community that has grown up. A diverse group of panelists will explore how women entrepreneurs cultivate and strengthen digital sisterhood in their entrepreneurial efforts; what happens when women tap into the power of digital sisterhood in their businesses; and how they use digital sisterhood as a business model.

@TMSRuge submitted this very interesting panel.

This panel provides a rare glimpse into the multitude of ways African women are applying technology to advance Africa’s development. The panel aims to dispel the myths about African women as breeders and victims — incapable of participating in their own continent’s development, by: (1) showcasing contributions they are making in the technology field – through entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and community leadership; and (2) providing insights into how they are using technology to raise awareness about, mobilize campaigns against and address human rights violations. The panel will specifically explore how African women are using technology to make an impact through: - Digital advocacy to protect people’s rights - Social media to help grassroots organizations engage new supporters worldwide - Mobile advertising to enable small businesses to access new markets - Internet connectivity to integrate the often unheard community voices into the global conversation on development

Home - DigitalFlashNYC

Join us on March 12th as DigitalFlashNYC, comes to SXSW to party and launch some game-changing tech, their way! We are bringing some of the best female comics, live in person and from locations across the country to assist with the product launch of “CX”.

What’s “CX” – we can’t say. Here’s what we can say to describe it:
It’s software technology that makes content instantly, purposefully and truly interactive second by second.  It provides real-time insight into the mood of individuals and the mind of the mob.  It’s also a sticky blast!

“GirlPower at the Power Plant” will definitely be largest DigitalFlashNYC event, because everything is bigger in Texas. Taking place at the legendary, Seaholm Power Plant, this event is all about rocking to the beat of your own drum when it comes to SXSW.

Yes, this event is run by a women owned digital agency, the technology product being launched is from a woman who has been a trailblazer in the comedy writing field, picking up numerous Emmy nods throughout her career and yes, there will be actual women comics performing. That being said, this event is for everyone who wants to drink, party, see some awesome tech, laugh their ass off and be a part of something truly special during SXSW.
