SXSW is not a comedy festival. There are no wristbands or badges to buy to see comedy shows; it’s all free — provided you’ve already bought wristbands or badges to see other SXSW events. Comedy is the gift that comes with purchase, like a decoder ring at the bottom of a box of cereal. The festival, which began in 1987, has only included comedy since 2008. While it has a long history of rocketing musicians to fame (Hanson, John Mayer, James Blunt) and helping to popularize startups (Twitter, Foursquare), it has no such prestige with comedians’ careers.

Home - DigitalFlashNYC

Join us on March 12th as DigitalFlashNYC, comes to SXSW to party and launch some game-changing tech, their way! We are bringing some of the best female comics, live in person and from locations across the country to assist with the product launch of “CX”.

What’s “CX” – we can’t say. Here’s what we can say to describe it:
It’s software technology that makes content instantly, purposefully and truly interactive second by second.  It provides real-time insight into the mood of individuals and the mind of the mob.  It’s also a sticky blast!

“GirlPower at the Power Plant” will definitely be largest DigitalFlashNYC event, because everything is bigger in Texas. Taking place at the legendary, Seaholm Power Plant, this event is all about rocking to the beat of your own drum when it comes to SXSW.

Yes, this event is run by a women owned digital agency, the technology product being launched is from a woman who has been a trailblazer in the comedy writing field, picking up numerous Emmy nods throughout her career and yes, there will be actual women comics performing. That being said, this event is for everyone who wants to drink, party, see some awesome tech, laugh their ass off and be a part of something truly special during SXSW.
